Destino Says...

Former make-up artist turned lash extension expert Edyta (Edy, pronounced “Eddie” to friends) first saw the gap in the lash market over a decade ago, while she was working on big make-up brand mascara campaigns and seeing bad strip lashes being applied to models. Since then, she has built a solid following amongst London celebrities for her ultra-natural looking lashes (Trinny Woodall, Arabella Chi and Niomi Smart are just a few who credit her for giving them great lashes).

Her work doesn’t come cheap – it’s £250 for a “subtle classic full set” at her Oxford Circus salon and £350 to have the same set at home – which we’d usually baulk at given that you can get great results for less BUT her lashes are amongst the least “extension-y” we’ve ever seen – so much so that many of her clients say that even their husbands don’t know their lashes aren’t their own. Why? Because she eschews any Russian layering (where up to 6 lashes are applied at once) and instead meticulously applies ultra-light single lashes to each of your own natural lashes. Her background as a make-up artist means she studies your eye shape in order to ensure lashes play up your natural eyes, rather than make them look too heavy or droopy – a common and unwanted side effect of less skilled and over-zealous lash technicians.

The result means she’s one of our go-tos for anyone who is worried about other lash extensions looking in any way overdone (particularly key if your natural lashes are on the fine or shorter side, perfect if you’re off on holiday, have to be on HD film and camera or getting married).
