The friendly and intimate vibe at FORM (combined with its calming pale oak floors and mirrored walls) make for a truly enjoyable workout experience. The studio is small with a maximum of 8 people per class making sessions here feel more like PT sessions. Founder Elissa, an ex professional dancer and National tennis player and her husband Jerry (also an ex-athlete) designed the signature 50-minute Sweatcore classes to target each muscle group and mix both cardio and strength training. The MOTR used in it is a T-bar shaped piece of equipment with arm pulleys that you use to do a wide range of exercises on – like balancing and deep squats, balletic moves that work legs and arms in unison and lying on it to target the core. At the end, 8 minutes of HIIT (including a stint on the TRX and SkiErg, a Nordic ski simulator) really gets the heart pumping. There’s also the option to do Purecore, which is 50 minutes of MOTR without the HIIT and great to do pre and post pregnancy.
Signature classes proved such a hit, they expanded into the basement downstairs and now offer even more (including HIIT only classes, Yoga, Boxfit, TRX, Matt Pilates, Barre and Aerial Yoga) so that you can get your full workout fix here. After a session, you leave with limbs trembling and after a few regular classes friends start commenting on your new found abs. Which is why it’s still one of DESTINO’s all-time favourite workouts – and we’ve tried a few.
